If you’re participating in peer reviews, you can select colleagues to provide feedback on your performance and you can provide feedback for others who’ve requested it.
Your view and options may vary, depending on how your review cycle is structured. If you’re a manager, you’ll see more options than a direct report who doesn’t manage other employees.
How to choose peer reviewers
If your review cycle includes peer reviews, you’ll need to select coworkers to provide feedback for you. Your manager can also add and remove reviewers from your list.
The goal of a peer review is not to receive the highest possible scores, but to get meaningful and helpful feedback that helps you grow in your role and company.
When choosing reviewers, keep in mind that a peer:
Isn’t your direct manager or direct report
Can be in a different department or team
Doesn’t have to be a “peer” in title or role
Should be familiar with your work
Is capable of evaluating your skill area (if you're in sales, you probably wouldn't ask someone in IT to be a peer reviewer)
Is someone you think will be honest and insightful
To select peers for your review:
Click Review in the left sidebar.
Check the review cycle near the top of the window. Click Switch Review Cycles if you need to complete a different review than the one shown.
Click Select Peer Reviewers (If you don’t see the option, click the More icon (ellipsis) and/or look for Manage Reviewers.
To add a reviewer, search for an employee by name and click Add and Notify to add them to your list of reviewers.
To remove a peer from the list, click the Delete icon (trash can) next to their name.
Click Close when you’re finished.
The coworkers you select will receive a notification and link to complete your review. You’ll see the results after your manager has finalized your review.
Notes:
If your review cycle includes manager reviews, direct and secondary managers are included by default and can’t be removed.
You can only remove reviewers who have not already submitted a review.
